January
Rice Pounding
In January, we welcome the new year pounding rice together and enjoying handmade mochi! We also have a time of prayer for the members at Suzuran who are coming of age.
March
National Youth Camp
The youth in our church attend a national Christian camp (hosted by the JBBF). It is an exciting time as the members travel by plane to the main island!
April
New School Year Celebration
In spring, we celebrate the children in our church who enter or graduate schools, as well as those who graduate college and start their new lives as working adults.
May
Mothers' Day
Mothers' Day events are always exciting at Suzuran. Each year we enjoy food, games and quizzes for the women who attend the Mothers' Day event.
June
Fathers' Day
We like to enjoy outdoor events around Fathers' Day. We have sports events at local parks, car rallies, treasure hunts and more!
July
Boys' Camp and Girls' Camp
We host events for the boys and girls in the church. The boys enjoy outdoor activities while the girls have tea parties!
August
Family Camp
We enjoy family camp in August. We have Bible studies for each group, times of worship in song and games!
September
Missions' Month
September is an important month at Suzuran. We remember and takes time to pray for our missionaries around the world. We are also reminded of the need to spread the gospel around the world through the Bible messages.
October
Anniversary Sunday
We celebrate our church anniversary in October and remember God's blessings and protection over our church.
November
Thanks Giving Service
Thanks Giving Month is a month that our whole church shows our thanks to God through a special sharing time in the services. We share testimonies, songs, Bible verses and enjoy a thanksgiving meal together.
December
Christmas
We host Christmas parties for all the age groups in our church, enjoy charolling at our local train station and host Christmas concerts at our church. We celebrate together the birth of our Saviour in December.
